Our client is a highly reputable, well regarded, award winning PR agency, whose office in Johannesburg is currently recruiting for experienced Account Directors. 

With your 7 years + experience in a PR agency environment.  You will focus on high end client interaction at a very strategic level.  This role requires specific experience in Communications  PR, digital marketing, people management, including coaching, mentoring and outputs-based KPI development.

Key responsibilities

  • Overseeing the PR strategy and its implementation and delivery, communicating with the client every step of the way
  • Implementing media and influencer strategies and ensuring account development and innovation
  • Achieving exceptional outcomes for the client
  • Developing senior press relationships and managing contacts with key commentators, industry spokespeople and sector influencers
  • Offering crisis management and counsel to clients where / when needed
  • Overseeing provision of account resources and workflow management
  • Reporting into management and the client on an ongoing basis
  • Leading and managing a team of PR professionals, providing professional development support, monitoring and performance reviews
  • Engage in knowledge sharing, training and mentorship
  • Championing the agency values and brand

Relevant experience

  • Extensive experience of PR within the Communications sector or industry
  • A strong industry network and contacts with senior journalists and members of the press
  • Proven track record of successfully implemented PR campaigns for a range of clients
  • Polished presenter and adept at explaining PR terms and outcomes to senior players
  • Commercial acumen and experience of developing new business
  • Management experience of developing star performers and overseeing performance
  • Driven, ambitious and willing to contribute to the business
